Studying of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine
The profession of Acupuncture/ Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in New Zealand is a growing and developing health care profession.
Acupuncturists work as primary health care providers. Acupuncturists usually work independently in their own practise. Some work with other health professionals or in teaching positions.
Qualifications in Acupuncture/TCM cover TCM Theory, Western Sciences, diagnosis and clinical practise. Courses may also include Chinese Herbal medicines and Tui Na/ Chinese Massage.
Students enrolled at the colleges are able to join the New Zealand Register of Acupuncturists Inc (NZRA) as student members. Student members can attend seminars, study groups and branch meetings and have access to the NZRA library.
